Hello Black Butte Parents and Staff,
I am holding a community meeting on Wednesday, October 29th at 5:30 to 6:30 in the District Board Room, Elementary School Room 15.
The purpose of this meeting is so we can get to know each other, discuss safety issues and concerns, and then a chance for you to tell me anything else that may be a concern for you.
Please make plans to attend this meeting if possible.

Yesterday evening we received reports of a middle school student who had discussed shooting and or killing people. The reports spread quickly through the community. The Black Butte Elementary School District took immediate action to assure the safety of all students, and began to investigate the situation as soon as possible. Meanwhile the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and responded.
The Sheriff Deputy did not find this situation to be a threat, and although we are still investigating, the Black Butte Union Elementary School District has found no evidence of an actual threat.
Rest assured that we take all threats seriously and will always do everything possible to assure the safety of our school and community.
