Sign Up for Summer School at Black Butte Elementary! <---LINK TO SIGN UP
Black Butte Union Elementary School District will be hosting a summer program from June 12 through July 24. All students that are currently in grades TK through 5th are invited to attend. This program is provided at no cost to families. Free breakfast and lunch will be available as well!
Summer School Hours: 8:00-12:30.
After School Program is available though Project Share from 12:30-5:00.
There will be NO program on 6/19, 6/26, 7/2, and 7/3.
The summer program is a privilege; students attending the summer program must maintain good behavior or they may be asked not to return.
We will notify you via email if your student has been accepted into the Summer School program. If you indicate that you need After School Program through Project Share, they will reach out with additional paperwork required for their program.

Hello Black Butte Parents and Staff,
I am holding a community meeting on Wednesday, October 29th at 5:30 to 6:30 in the District Board Room, Elementary School Room 15.
The purpose of this meeting is so we can get to know each other, discuss safety issues and concerns, and then a chance for you to tell me anything else that may be a concern for you.
Please make plans to attend this meeting if possible.

Yesterday evening we received reports of a middle school student who had discussed shooting and or killing people. The reports spread quickly through the community. The Black Butte Elementary School District took immediate action to assure the safety of all students, and began to investigate the situation as soon as possible. Meanwhile the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and responded.
The Sheriff Deputy did not find this situation to be a threat, and although we are still investigating, the Black Butte Union Elementary School District has found no evidence of an actual threat.
Rest assured that we take all threats seriously and will always do everything possible to assure the safety of our school and community.
